Incubation

A formal stage in which a validated strategy runs live at minimum (or paper) size with the backtest running in parallel, so you can measure real backtest-to-live drift before committing capital. The goal is not profit at this size but a reconciled record of expected versus actual behaviour.

First used in Lesson 3.4 · Incubation & fill reconciliation — the lesson that makes this term real.
