Promotion/demotion

Replacing the champion with a winning challenger (promotion) or retiring an underperforming champion (demotion), using the same pre-registered bar for both. Symmetry matters: traders promote eagerly and cling stubbornly, so an asymmetric bar lets dead strategies accumulate.
